| Of all the phases of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary activities, most members find Operations the most exciting. Each year, members of the Auxiliary throughout the country conduct safety and search and rescue patrols on their local waters providing assistance to an average of 25,000 boaters in distress and help save almost 500 lives annually. |

We help to promote clean waterways through marine pollution awareness programs that help to recognize, protect, and assess the environment. We assist the Coast Guard in areas such as computer operations, radio watchstanding, publications, and public affairs. We help in building a stronger Coast guard team through promoting awareness of career opportunities for service. Member training is an integral part of Operations. Qualified Auxiliarists as well as Active Duty Coast Guard instructors conduct member training both ashore and afloat. This training provides the necessary skills and confidence required to take on the challenges of safely accomplishing operational missions. |
